Carole-ann fell in love with LGBTQ fiction while completing her English degree in Nottingham. She loved studying literature but struggled to take her nose out of the books long enough to write her essays. After a few years of queer theory, gender and sexuality studies, and creative writing, she had to join the real world, where they won’t let her read a book under the table.
Her first attempt at editing was at the age of eleven, when she rewrote The Jabberwocky to make it “more interesting.” Since then, she’s developed her skills through writing and editing fiction, articles, and copy at university and for several organizations and freelance clients. She reads anything within range, but has a particular love for fantasy and science fiction. Happy endings are her favorite, but she rarely gets them given her obsession with dystopian and post-apocalyptic fiction.
Carole-ann edits full time at Riptide, and spends her spare time planning various events, dancing, and buying large amounts of fabric which she will one day turn into clothes.
